What do we know about the animated Among Us series?
Announced in June 2023, CBS Eye Animation Productions and Innersloth have teamed up to make an animated series based on Among Us. Infinity Train creator Owen Dennis is serving as the series creator and executive producer, while Titmouse (Big Mouth, Star Trek: Lower Decks) is animating the series.
Additional executive producers involved with the series include Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, Carl Neisser Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina.
No network or streamer is currently attached to the project, though Variety reports that “those conversations are said to be ongoing.” Plot details for the series remain under wraps, though it will seemingly involve some sort of murder mystery similar to the game.
The Among Us video game was released in 2018, first on iOS and Android devices and then on Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Becoming immensely popular during the COVID-19 pandemic, the game sees multiple players have to figure out which one of them is a murderous “imposter” while they also have to complete various tasks on a dysfunctional spaceship.
“Members of your crew have been replaced by an alien shapeshifter intent on causing confusion, sabotaging the ship, and killing everyone,” reads the game’s official description. “Root out the ‘Impostor’ or fall victim to its murderous designs.”
A release date for the animated Among Us series has not yet been announced.
