Anurag Kashyap’s New Web Series Bad Cop Release Date Announced

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is gearing up to feature in a never-before-seen avatar in his new web series, Bad Cop. This highly anticipated show, co-starring Gulshan Devaiah, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar soon this month.

Anurag Kashyap’s new web series Bad Cop to release on Disney+ Hotstar

The series, featuring Anurag Kashyap in a rare acting role, pairs him opposite Gulshan Devaiah. Known for his directorial ventures, Kashyap seldom appears in front of the camera, making this a noteworthy project. The duo will headline Bad Cop, a series that promises a fresh take on the classic cop vs. villain narrative.

Directed by Aditya Datt, Bad Cop is an adaptation of RTL’s German show Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut. The storyline centers on Karan (played by Devaiah), a determined cop entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse with Kazbe (played by Kashyap), a menacing and unpredictable villain. Furthermore, apart from Anurag Kashyap and Gushan Deviah, the show also features Harleen Sethi, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Aishwarya Sushmita.

Anurag Kashyap’s new web series Bad Cop will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from June 21, 2024. The recently released trailer promises an action-packed series with thrilling chase sequences, intense confrontations, and sharp dialogues. As Kashyap describes his character: “Kazbe is someone who doesn’t think too much before doing anything; he just does it. He is a dreadful, eccentric, nefarious and a quintessential villain. I had to bite into the intricacies of this character and make it my own.”

Devaiah highlighted the challenging yet rewarding experience of working on the series, particularly the action scenes. “It was enjoyable to perform with Anurag, who had only directed and produced my films earlier, but it was fun to do scenes and action with him.”

With a release date of June 21, 2024, on Disney+ Hotstar, fans eagerly await this fresh collaboration between Anurag Kashyap and Gulshan Devaiah. Stay tuned for more updates!
