The C-3PO head worn by Anthony Daniels in the original Star Wars movie is up for auction, but you probably can’t afford it.

C-3PO, head auction, Star Wars

We’ve all had those dreams of what we’d do if we won the lottery. Some people want a big house or a lot of cars, but in my heart, I know I’d spend it all on movie memorabilia. Iconic pieces of Hollywood history go up for auction every year, but a large majority of it is just way beyond the price range of the average fan. Propstore is hosting an auction in London next month, and one of the biggest pieces is the original C-3PO head worn by Anthony Daniels in Star Wars: A New Hope, but it’s just a little bit pricey.

The C-3PO head is expected to fetch anywhere between £500,000 to £1,000,000 at the auction, which puts it out of the realm of most of us. The piece is part of a collection owned by Anthony Daniels, which also includes C-3PO’s hands, feet, and more. “I’m thrilled that Propstore has agreed to curate my collection, and I trust that the pieces will go into the right hands,” Daniels said in a statement. “I hope this can bring pleasure to Star Wars fans and collectors all around the world and give them a chance to own a piece of the real thing.

Stephen Lane, founder and chief executive of Propstore, added, “With an impressive number of lots going under the hammer, we have some extraordinary content on offer including the incredible Anthony Daniels collection. It really is a huge privilege to be offering such a remarkable collection from a true Star Wars legend.

Some of the other items in the auction include Captain America’s shield from Captain America: The First Avenger, Joaquin Phoenix’s Commodus costume from the Gladiator arena fight, Jason Voorhees’s Uber Jason mask from Jason X, Leonardo DiCaprio’s costume from Titanic, Robert Englund’s Freddy Kruger glove from A Nightmare on Elm Street, and much more. Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction will run from November 9-12th.

Speaking of Star Wars items up for auction, there’s another auction coming up next week which features a long-lost X-wing model used in the Death Star battle in the original movie. The starting bid for that piece will begin at $400,000.
