Patti LuPone has revealed new Agatha: Coven of Chaos details about Marvel Studios’ upcoming series, which will be led by Kathryn Hahn.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Grammy winner opened up about the series, which is currently in production. LuPone confirmed that she plays the role of a “450-year-old Sicilian witch” who has the power of divination. Her character is part of a coven led by Kathryn Hahn’s titular witch, who first appeared in 2021’s Wanda Vision.
Additional new Agatha: Coven of Chaos details covered was the musical aspect of the show. Tea Beau is Afraid actress revealed that fans should expect musical performances from the witches. “Our lead singer is Kathryn,” LuPone teased. “I’m singing backup, and the songs have been written by Kristen and Bobby Lopez.” .
Agatha: Coven of Chaos was officially announced during Disney Day 2021. It will feature the return of Kathryn Hahn as she covers her Wanda Vision role as Agatha Harkness, who was one of the Elizabeth Olsen-led series’ antagonists and is the one who revealed Wanda’s true potential as the Scarlet Witch. For her fan-favorite performance, she earned an Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
The series will also see the return of Emma Caulfield Ford and Debra Jo Rupp, who are resuming their roles as Westview residents. They will be joined by MCU newcomers Emmy nominee Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Sasheer Zamata, and Patti LuPone, with Locke rumored to be the male lead.
The upcoming project hails from head writer Jac Schaeffer, who is also serving as an executive producer along with Kevin Feige. The directing lineup will consist of Schaeffer, Gandja Monteiro, and Rachel Goldberg.
