Visions Season 3 Renewed With Release Date Window


Disney and Lucasfilm have renewed Star Wars: Visions for Season 3 or Volume 3 and disclosed its release date window. The anthology series comprises animated shorts developed by various Japanese anime studios and international production companies, and the upcoming season will be no exception.

Star Wars: Visions Season 3 will come out on Disney+ sometime in 2025, Disney and Lucasfilm have announced.

The series premiered on September 22, 2021, with a nine-episode inaugural season. The sophomore season has the same amount of episodes and debuted on May 4, 2023. The groundbreaking show exists outside the traditional Disney Star Wars canon, allowing its creators to peer at one of the most iconic fictional universes through unique and innovative perspectives.

Both the first and second seasons have received critical acclaim and mostly positive reactions from the fans. On Rotten Tomatoes, Season 1 has an approval rating of 96%. The second season fared even better on the review-aggregating site, accumulating an incredible 100% approval rating after 22 reviews. Accordingly, there is considerable interest in the show’s upcoming third season.

Star Wars: Visions Season 3 to feature shorts from Production IG, Trigger, and more

Visions Season 3 will feature shorts developed by Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell and anime sequences of Kill Bill Vol. 1), Studio Trigger (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners), David Production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure), Kinema Citrus (The Rising of the Shield Hero), Wit Studio (Attack on Titan), Polygon Pictures (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), and Project Studio Q (Darling in the Franxx), among others. Additionally, it includes a short that Kamikaze Douga+ developed in collaboration with Anima.

Notably, several of these studios have previously worked on the show’s Season 1 . Production I.G developed Episode 5, “The Ninth Jedi,” whereas Studio Trigger made Episode 3, “The Twins.” Further, Kamikaze Douga created the series premiere, “The Duel,” and Kinema Citrus developed Episode 4, “The Village Bride.”
