Bob Odenkirk Returns in First Photo of Action Sequel

Bob Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell is back in the first look at Nobody 2.

Nobody was released in United States theaters in March 2021. Directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by Derek Kolstad, the action thriller movie stars Odenkirk as a former government assassin named Hutch Mansell. The cast also includes Connie Nielsen as Becca Mansell, RZA as Harry Mansell, Christory Lloyd as David Mansell, Aleksei Serebryakov as Yulian Kuznetsov, and more.

In December 2022, producer Kelly McCormick officially announced that Nobody 2 is in the works. Odenkirk is reprising his role in the sequel, which is scheduled to be released in August 2025.

With filming on Nobody 2 having wrapped in September 2024, Empire Magazine has now shared the first photo from the movie. View it below, via an X post:

What do we know about Nobody 2?

Plot details for Nobody 2 remain under wraps at this time; however, speaking with Empire Magazine, director Timo Tjahjanto teased that the movie will lean into some family drama aspects.

“Now that [Hutch is] back at it in full throttle, how does his family react to this beast? You’ll see a lot of the questions that fathers and husbands ask — ‘How do they react to this other side of me who’s constantly hustling and working for the family?’ It’s gonna be quite a journey,” Tjahjanto said.

Tjahjanto also said that Nobody 2 will ditch the “whole drab, gloomy factory/warehouse feel of the first film” and, instead, will feel much more “summery and colorful.”

Along with Odenkirk, Nielsen, RZA, and Lloyd are all reprising their roles in Nobody 2, while Sharon Stone, Colin Hanks, and John Ortiz have additionally joined the cast. Tjahjanto said of Stone, who is playing the antagonist in the movie, “Her performance reminds me a lot of Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast. She is definitely an alpha female. She doesn’t take sh-t from anybody. This is a villain that is unique, and she’s making this character completely batsh-t crazy.”

Nobody 2 releases in United States theaters on August 15, 2025, from Universal Pictures.
