Impossible supercut of Tom Cruise running

Paramount is celebrating Tom Cruise’s birthday with a video featuring all of the scenes of him running in the Mission Impossible franchise.

It’s Tom Cruise’s birthday today, and Paramount is celebrating the star’s birthday in style. If there’s anything the now 61-year-old star is known for, it’s his distinctive on-screen run. Whether he’s Maverick or Ethan Hunt, Cruise is always on the move, and the studio has just released a supercut featuring all the running scenes from the Impossible mission franchise, from 1996 up to and including this summer’s Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part Iwhich opens on July 12th.

Here at JoBlo, we’re massive fans of Cruise, and in fact, I’ve been running a Tom Cruise Revisited series on our Originals Channel, going through his filmography one film at a time. We just did Born on the Fourth of July and plan to cover all of his movies eventually. Check out this cool anthology video we put together of his early films, Risky Business, All the Right Moves, Legend and Top Gun.

In the meantime, Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part I is shaping up to be one of the few blockbusters likely to satisfy audiences and critics alike, with it on track for a big opening. This is significant as a bunch of very expensive movies, including The Flash and IIndiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, have drastically underperformed. Always a cheerleader for the big screen experience, Tom Cruise has gone out of his way to support moviegoers going to see all of the summer’s blockbusters, even Oppenheimerwhich is set to claim all the IMAX screens Dead Reckoning is opening on. Others have joined in, with Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig posting pics of themselves buying tickets to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Oppenheimer and, of course, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning.

Which summer blockbuster are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments!
