According to Deadline, Netflix has listed two new recurring actors to join The Gentlemen cast for the upcoming series adaptation of Guy Ritchie’s 2020 crime film. Newcomers Harry Goodwins and Ruby Sear have officially been cast for the respective key roles of Jack and Gabrielle.
They will be joining previously announced lead Theo James, who just recently nabbed his first Emmy nomination for his acclaimed performance in HBO’s The White Lotus Season 2. Further details about their characters are still being kept under wraps.
What is The Gentlemen Series about?
“The Netflix adaptation follows Eddie Horniman (James), who has inherited his English aristocrat father’s sizable estate and becomes the new Duke of Halstead — only to discover that he’s sitting on top of the biggest weed farm in Europe, which is owned by the legendary Mickey Pearson. It’s all about old money, new money and show me the money,” reads the logline.
The Gentlemen spin-off is written and executive produced by Ritchie and Matthew Read, with the former also directing the first two episodes. In addition to James, it also stars Giancarlo Esposito, Vinnie Jones, Joely Richardson, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Peter Serafinowicz, Alex Rodney, and Max Beesley.
Executive producers are Read, Ivan Atkinson, Marn Davies, Bill Block, Marc Helwig, Will Gould, and Frith Tiplady, with Hugh Warren as set as a producer. The project hails from Miramax TV and Moonage Pictures.
