Barbie director Greta Gerwig has reportedly been having “recurring nightmares” about the newest project she’s been working on.
Where did Greta Gerwig say she’s had ‘recurring nightmares’ about a project?
At the BFI London Film Festival, ScreenDaily reported that Gerwig answered a number of questions as part of the latest LFF Screen Talk interview. When the topic of her next project came up, the director noted that she’s been having bad dreams while working on it.
“I’m working on something right now,” Gerwig stated. “It’s hard and I’m having recurring nightmares.”
Though Gerwig didn’t reveal which project this is, it’s worth noting that Gerwig is set to direct two movies based on C.S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia books. Not only that, but the director noted she was “properly scared” of the idea. Prior to Gerwig’s upcoming adaptations, The Chronicles of Narnia were famously turned into a trilogy of films, the last of which was released in 2010. As a whole, the trilogy grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide.
Gerwig has had a successful directorial career, having helmed the critically successful Lady Bird and Little Women. Her newest movie, Barbie, starred Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in an adaptation of the popular Mattel dolls and was met with critical and commercial success.
