Dominic Rains Exits Chicago Med Cast, Won’t Return for Season 10

Dominic Rains is officially exiting the hit drama series Chicago Med following the recent Season 9 finale.

According to a report from Deadline, Rains — who played Dr. Crockett Marcel in the medical drama — is leaving the series that he joined in Season 5, ending a fan-favorite run on the series.

What happened on the Season 9 finale of Chicago Med?

In the Season 9 finale of Chicago Med, Rains’ character was told by Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) to take all the time he needs after the doctor lost a patient, a young boy who was set to get a liver transplant that Crockett canceled after an infection appeared.

Following the boy’s death, his father (who begged Crockett to do the procedure) took his own life. While the scene itself wasn’t confirmation that Rains would be leaving the series, Rains will now move on from the series. It’s unclear as of now whether or not he’ll appear in Season 10 as a guest star.

Chicago Med focuses on the “emergency department at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center and on its doctors and nurses as they work to save patients’ lives,” according to the series’ synopsis.
