Alana Haim Joins Movies With Zendaya and Josh O’Connor

Alana Haim continues to grow her acting resume, as THR reports the singer-songwriter is set to join the cast of two more upcoming high-profile projects.

What movies is Alana Haim joining?

According to THR’s report, Haim will join the cast of the upcoming art heist drama The Mastermind, which comes from director Kelly Reichardt (First Cow, Showing Up) and stars Josh O’Connor (Challengers).

The film takes place during the Vietnam War and the beginning of the women’s liberation movement in America, but not too much else is known about the project as of now.

Elsewhere, Haim will also star in The Drama, a movie from filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli (Dream Scenario) that also stars Zendaya (Dune: Part II) and Robert Pattinson (The Batman). That film centers on a couple in the days leading up to their wedding, who end up in a crisis when “unexpected revelations derail what one of them thought they knew of the other.”

Haim is also set to star in Paul Thomas Anderson’s new movie, which is still untitled as of now. That film also features an all-star cast, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyena Taylor, Wood Harris, and Shayna McHayle. Haim also previously worked with Anderson on 2021’s Licorice Pizza, which was nominated for Best Picture at the 94th Academy Awards and also starred Cooper Hoffman, Penn, Tom Waits, Bradley Cooper, and Benny Safdie.

Outside of acting, Haim is one-third of rock band Haim, which also featured her sisters Este and Danielle. The group was formed in 2007, and over the years have released three studio albums. The group has also earned two Grammy nominations during their time together, and have also performed on Saturday Night Live.
