Is Hulu Down? Is the Issue Fixed Now?

Many Hulu users recently experienced disruptions while trying to stream their favorite shows, leading to widespread frustration. Reports of the issue quickly surfaced, with many taking to social media to express their frustration. Amidst this, many people are curious to know if Hulu is still down or if the issue was fixed.

Here is everything to know about Hulu not working and whether it is fixed.

Is Hulu down and not working?

On Thursday night, October 17, Hulu experienced a significant outage, affecting thousands of users across the platform.

According to Downdetector, reports of streaming issues surged, with over 82,500 users impacted at its peak around 6:13 p.m. ET. (via KRON4)

Many frustrated viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to share screenshots of the error message they encountered, which read, “We’re having trouble playing this. Rest assured, we’re working on it. In the meantime, it may help if you restart the video.”

Some users were particularly upset as the outage occurred during the 10th inning of the ALCS Game 3 between the New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians, causing them to miss crucial moments of the game. One user posted on X, “2 playoff baseball games, nfl, college football, and @hulu just stops fucking working. If this isn’t fixed in 2 minutes I’m switching to YouTube TV. This is a fucking joke and waste of money.”

Hulu quickly responded to multiple complaints, assuring customers that they were working to resolve the issue as fast as possible.

Around 3,800 users were still not able to access Hulu properly by 7:30 p.m., though for some, the issue seemed to have been resolved.

Is the Hulu issue fixed?

According to a post by Hulu Support on X, the issue has been mitigated. However, many users responded, saying they are still experiencing problems with the service.

A user commented on X, “Not working again. Getting the Having Trouble Viewing message again!!!” However, Hulu has yet to respond to these comments.
