What Does Adam Cole Think of Feud Adjustments With MJF?

The feud between Adam Cole and MJF in AEW has taken a dramatic turn, with significant shifts in their arcs over the past few weeks. Last year at AEW World’s End in December, Cole shocked fans by betraying MJF and revealing himself as ‘The Devil.’

Initially, the two shared a storyline as best friends and tag team partners, even capturing the ROH Tag Team titles together at All In in London. In September 2023, Cole suffered an ankle injury while rushing to MJF’s side during his AEW World Title Match against Samoa Joe. He sustained the injury after due to a quick jump off the ramp. Despite his injury, Cole continued to appear on AEW programming.

Following Adam Cole’s betrayal and heel turn, MJF went on a hiatus. However, he returned to AEW Double or Nothing in May and attacked Cole. Although MJF initially returned as a babyface, he reverted to a heel role after an attack on Daniel Garcia a few months ago.

During this time, Cole remained off television as his ankle injury had not fully healed. After several months away, Cole made a surprising return at AEW WrestleDream, this time as a babyface, launching an attack on MJF.

Since then, the feud has intensified, but a surprising twist has emerged. Adam Cole, despite his earlier betrayal, is now seen as the babyface, while MJF is positioned as the heel. These unexpected shifts have left fans puzzled, and Cole recently shared his thoughts on the changes.

Recently, AEW star Adam Cole spoke with TV Insider, where he shared his thoughts on the unique situation of departing as a heel. He said, “I think when you look at the history of AEW, MJF is regarded as one of, if not the biggest villain in the history of the company. MJF has gone back to being who he truly is and showing his true colors. I think there was this perception that after I returned from a long hiatus the fans were going to be excited about it.”

The storyline between these two stars has taken on fresh dynamics. Recently, MJF issued a challenge to any member of The Undisputed Kingdom, led by Adam Cole, to win three consecutive matches. If they succeed, MJF will agree to face Cole in the ring. The sudden change in dynamics might imply new developments in their respective arcs.
