Andor Season 2 Wraps Filming, Diego Luna Issues Statement


Andor Season 2 has officially wrapped filming, and star Diego Luna took to social media to praise the upcoming highly anticipated second season of the series.

In a recent post on Instagram, Luna — who stars in the series — revealed that Friday was the final day of filming for Andor Season 2. The star also praised the “more than 700 people” who worked on the show, and thanked them for all for the time together and experience.

“Today is the last day of filming Andor. I could not be more thankful to the entire crew for this amazing experience and the years of hard work,” said Luna in his statement. “More than 700 people have worked on this production, and it is impossible to say goodbye and thank you to everyone individually, which is why I write here. THANK YOU for the love and the wonderful experience. See you soon.”

What to Expect in Andor Season 2?

Andor features Diego Luna reprising his role as Cassian Andor. Set five years before the events of Rogue One, the series follows the adventures of the titular hero rebel spy during the formative years of the Rebellion. Set to premiere in August 2024, the season is expected feature time jumps involving Andor’s missions for the Rebel Alliance.

Franchise alums Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera, Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, and Alan Tudyk as Cassian’s droid sidekick K-2SO are also returning for Season 2 along with Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, and Adria Arjona.

Andor Season 1 premiered towards the end of 2022. It starred Diego Luna and features franchise alums Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma. Additional cast also includes Star Wars newcomers Denise Gough, Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, and Adria Arjona.
