Andrew Garfield explains why he thinks that he has the best Spider-Man suit of the live-action franchises.
Over the last twenty years, we’ve seen multiple actors play Spider-Man, and therefore, we’ve seen multiple variations of the iconic suit. When it comes to the best Spider-Man suit, I’m sure everyone has their favourite, but Andrew Garfield believes that his suit takes the top spot.
“The eyes on mine are definitely the best,” Andrew Garfield said of his suit in Spider-Man: No Way Way Home – The Art of the Movie (via ComicBookMovie.com). “The eye shape is just the most open and friendly and, I don’t know, sweet. I would say, just practically my suit is the best, because I have zippers on my wrist so that I can get my hands out. You get more breaks. But none of the suits are that much fun to wear.“
Andrew Garfield played Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and also reprised the role alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The suit he wore in the first movie was rather divisive, which prompted Marvel to switch it up for the sequel, giving us one of the most comic-accurate costumes and probably my personal favourite.
Both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have expressed an interest in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following their appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Whether it happens is another question, but when asked about his MCU future, Garfield said, “The story never ends… Whether we film it or not, there’s a story happening in a universe somewhere, there’s endless potential with this character and other iterations. So yeah, he’s definitely out there doing something.” When asked the same question earlier this year, Maguire said, “I love these films and I love all of the different series. If these guys called me and said, ‘Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?’ or ‘Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?’, it would be a ‘yes!’ Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?“
