Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition comes on four disks for the Xbox Series X
Larian Game Studios announced Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition last November, a few weeks before the digital editions released on Xbox. The game is currently only available through digital distribution, but the upcoming Xbox and PS5 Deluxe Editions include physical copies.
Both console versions are playable on disk. However, while the PS5 version only needs two disks, the Series X/S release comes on four. Larian initially intended to release it on three disks, but the game is slightly too big to fit.
According to Larian Studios’ director of publishing, Michael Douse, the game was just 500 megabytes, half a gigabyte, over the limit. However, compressing it further would have meant cutting content, which obviously wouldn’t make sense.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Deluxe Edition releases later this year, and fans can pre-order it now for $79.99. It includes the pre-existing Digital Deluxe edition and an assortment of physical goodies. The latter include patches, stickers, a cloth world map, a poster, the three CD soundtrack, and a Deluxe Edition box. The digital items include the Divinity Item Pack, Bard Song Pack, Exclusive Dice Skin, Paintings From Rivellon, Digital Artbook, and more. It is also the only way to get a physical copy of Baldur’s Gate 3.
