Bryan Danielson Fires Back at Claudio Castagnoli’s ‘Last Match’ Statement


AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson reacted to Claudio Castagnoli’s last match statement ahead of WrestleDream 2024. At All Out, Moxley shocked fans by attacking Danielson right after his title defense against Jack Perry.

Christian Cage appeared ready to cash in his AEW title clause, but Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Pac arrived. In a surprising twist, Moxley and Castagnoli turned on Danielson while Pac held back Wheeler Yuta. After turning on Danielson, Jon Moxley secured the number one contender spot for AEW WrestleDream 2024, taking the opportunity from Darby Allin, who was the original number one contender.

The Blackpool Combat Club has been targeting Bryan Danielson since AEW All Out. Recently, Claudio Castagnoli, a member of the faction, spoke with Sports Illustrated. He revealed that this match will be Danielson’s last on Dynamite before his career-ending bout against Jon Moxley at WrestleDream.

On Dynamite, Bryan Danielson was scheduled to team up with Wheeler Yuta to face PAC and Claudio Castagnoli. Before the match, Danielson addressed Claudio’s remarks about it being his final Dynamite appearance.

Bryan Danielson to Claudio Castagnoli: ‘This isn’t my last match on dynamite’

Before AEW Dynamite, the promotion shared a video featuring Bryan Danielson’s reaction to Claudio Castagnoli’s remarks. In the video, Danielson addressed Claudio’s claim about it being his last match on Dynamite, asserting it wouldn’t be. He confidently stated that he and Wheeler Yuta would defeat Claudio and Pac on Dynamite.

He stated, “So apparently Claudio did an interview with Sports Illustrated, telling everybody this was gonna be my last match on Dynamite. Well guess what Claudio, big news, this isn’t gonna be my last match on Dynamite. Tonight, I’m gonna run through you and PAC. Me and Wheeler Yuta are gonna run through you guys. And then Saturday at WrestleDream, Mox, you don’t know what you got coming to you.

Danielson also added, “Listen Claudio, I’ve been a supporter of you for 20 years. 20 years, I have been your friend. 20 years, I have supported you in every company that we’ve worked together with. But tonight, tonight, there’s gonna no support. There’s just gonna be me in Spokane, Washington kicking your f**king head in.”

Later on in the show, Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta defeated Claudio Castagnoli and PAC. With Danielson gaining the upper hand, he is set to defend the AEW World Title against Jon Moxley this Saturday, October 12, at AEW WrestleDream 2024 in Washington.
