With the live-action adaptation finally out on Netflix, fans wonder whether Monkey D. Luffy will find the One Piece. Or has he already uncovered the Gol D. Roger’s fabled treasure? Here’s what you need to know.
Does Luffy find the One Piece in the anime?
The anime hasn’t revealed whether Luffy finds the One Piece yet.
Based on the manga series of the same name started by Eiichiro Oda in 1997, the One Piece anime series hasn’t shown the end of Mugiwara’s journey yet where, supposedly, they’ll find the One Piece treasure. While it serves as one of the central mysteries and driving forces behind the story, Oda has intentionally kept the One Piece shrouded in mystery throughout the series. Even the ongoing manga series hasn’t unveiled whether Luffy finds the treasure at the end of his journey.
Gol D. Roger uncovered the One Piece treasure after reaching the legendary island of Raftel, a.k.a. Laugh Tale. The One Piece is said to be something priceless, and whoever gets it earns the title “Pirate King.” Before his execution, Roger revealed the existence of the One Piece to the world and sparked the Great Pirate Era, leading countless individuals, including Luffy and his crew, to become pirates and search for the treasure.
