Amber Heard has reportedly left Hollywood for Spain several months after settling her defamation lawsuit with Johnny Depp.
Months after settling her lawsuit with ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard is reportedly taking a break from Tinseltown, as sources are saying that the actress has officially made the move to Spain to live a life away from media and public scrutiny.
This week, The Daily Mail reported, “I can reveal that Heard has left Hollywood and quietly relocated to Spain with her young daughter Oonagh,” while an additional source confirmed, “She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise.” And while she is removed from the limelight already, it seems Amber Heard doesn’t want to be counted out entirely. “I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right, for the right project.” Both Heard and Depp have movies out this year: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is set for a December 20th release and sees Heard covering Mera from Justice League and the first Aquamanwhile Depp’s Jeanne du Barry will make its world premiere at this month’s Cannes Film Festival. One wonders if Heard will make her return to the States for the premiere of her own movie
At the time of settling the much-publicized and -ridiculous defamation suit with Depp, Heard wrote on Instagram, “The vilification I have faced on social media is an amplified version of the ways in which women are re-victimized when they come forward. Now I finally have an opportunity to emancipate myself from something I attempted to leave over six years ago and on terms I can agree to.” She added, “I make this decision having lost faith in the American legal system, where my unprotected testimony served as entertainment and social media fodder.”
Knowing she is apparently in Madrid for a while, these thoughts have clearly never left her head, nor has the weight of betrayal subsided. But Heard will have to be careful how much she spends on tapas, since she claims her Depp clash cost her around $50 million…
