HBO Max’s new TV and movie release schedule for September 30 – October 6, 2024, includes Salem’s Lot, Have I Got News for You, and The Franchise.
On October 3, Salem’s Lot will premiere on HBO Max. Written and directed by Gary Dauberman, Salem’s Lot is a supernatural horror thriller. The film follows a writer named Ben Mears as he returns to his mysterious childhood home, Jerusalem’s Lot, seeking inspiration. However, he is shocked to find the town under the control of a vampire. This marks the beginning of Ben’s journey to confront the supernatural, aided by a group of allies.
Additionally, the comedy series The Franchise will be available on the platform. It revolves around a film crew making a superhero movie, only to find themselves struggling for their identity within a cutthroat cinematic universe. The series takes viewers on a chaotic but heartfelt journey through the world of filmmaking. The main cast includes Himesh Patel, Jessica Hynes, and Billy Magnussen, with Richard E. Grant and Daniel Brühl in significant recurring roles.
Also debuting on HBO Max is Have I Got News for You. This reality show, hosted by Roy Wood Jr., features team captains Amber Ruffin and Michael Ian Black as they offer their comedic takes on the week’s news. The show also engages guests in entertaining games that test their knowledge of current events.
