The story revolves around Kuldeep “Kukoo” Saini and Nainaa Sharma. A now-married couple who fell in love during their school days. After marriage, they move to Toronto, Canada. Nainaa secures a job in a corporate company, while Kukoo works as a bouncer in a nightclub. Over a period of five years, their marriage suffers from a lack of communication, leading to resentments and unspoken frustrations. Amidst this, Nainaa gets a job offer as the vice president of HR in New York City. However, Kukoo keeps growing increasingly discontent with his job.

Why did Naina and Kukoo pretend to be a happy couple?

On their wedding anniversary, Kukoo and Nainaa confront the reality of their strained relationship. They mutually decide to get a divorce after the wedding of Kukoo’s sister, Ginny. They travel to their hometown, Patiala, India, for Ginny’s wedding. The duo is greeted by Kukoo’s joyful parents, Bheem and Geeta, and Ginny. To avoid spoiling Ginny’s wedding, Kukoo and Nainaa pretend to be a happy couple. On the other hand, Ginny herself grapples with feelings for her ex-boyfriend, Gaurav.

As Nainaa’s boss pressurizes her for a decision on the promotion, she urges Kukoo to disclose their impending divorce to his parents. Meanwhile, Kukoo discovers that his father, Bheem, also plans to divorce Geeta after Ginny’s wedding. Kukoo learns of Bheem’s affair with his 12th-grade math teacher, Meera, causing further turmoil.

Why did Kukoo expose Bheem’s affair?

The situation escalates when Nainaa, frustrated by the family’s traditional expectations for her to bear children, reveals her intention to separate from Kukoo to her mother and Geeta. The next day, a distraught Geeta confronts the couple, urging them to resolve their issues. In a heated moment, Kukoo exposes Bheem’s affair with Meera to Geeta and Nainaa. Bheem, caught off-guard, fakes a heart attack to gain sympathy, with a family doctor playing along.

Geeta, in a surprising move, decides to unite Bheem and Meera after Ginny’s wedding. This revelation leads to a heated argument between Kukoo, Nainaa, and Geeta, resulting in Kukoo leaving the house. He confides in his best friend and Nainaa’s brother, Gurpreet. Meanwhile, Bheem attempts to leave for Meera’s, but she rejects him, believing she cannot replace Geeta. Kukoo encounters Bheem, who feigns a return to Geeta. Geeta, convinced by Bheem’s act, forgives him.

Amidst this chaos, Ginny arranges for her parents to renew their vows on their wedding anniversary. However, at the ceremony, Kukoo and Gurpreet invite Meera to mock her, only to learn that it was Meera who rejected Bheem. An infuriated Kukoo publicly discloses the truth and confronts Bheem, leading to Geeta slapping him and deciding to file for divorce.

Jugjugg Jeeyo ending: Did Naina and Kukoo finally get divorced?

Ginny, overwhelmed by her family’s turmoil and her own conflicted feelings for Baljeet and her past love, expresses her insecurities and doubts about marriage. As the divorce proceedings for both couples begin, Bheem and Geeta are given six months by the court to reconsider their decision. Kukoo, realizing his mistakes and the impact of his jealousy on Nainaa’s success, refuses the divorce and reconciles with her. They decide to start anew in New York City. Bheem, acknowledging his selfishness, resolves to win back Geeta within six months and supports Ginny’s decision to pursue her true love.
