Four new Jazwares Vault Halo figures are now available for purchase on the company’s store. The four-inch figures expand a line that already houses some iconic characters, such as Arbiter and Master Chief. ComingSoon was able to go hands-on with the four new figures (Grunt Major, Jerome-092, Kelly-097, and ODST), which are sure to be a treat for any fan of the Xbox gaming series.
All four figures are priced the same ($20 currently on the store) and are quite detailed. I was quite impressed with the quality of each, as Jazwares provides an impressive 40 points of articulation (making them great for posing as each comes with an environmental stand and an accessory) and detail on the figures for being this affordable. The trade-off is that they’re on the smaller side at four inches, but I’d rather have a smaller detailed figure at this price point than a larger one that doesn’t have as many of the small details.
My favorite and most unique of the four figures is the Grunt Major. As an alien enemy, it’s the only non-human-shaped figure of the bunch and has a really fun design based on the original Halo: Combat Evolved. It comes with a Plasma pistol that fits into its hands, and its colorful red armor really pops. As someone with fond memories for the original Xbox, it definitely hit a strong nostalgia point and is great for older fans of the series.
If you’re not a hardcore fan, then you could easily confuse the Jerome-092 for Master Chief. Instead, this Spartan soldier is from Halo Wars 2 — the fantastic real-time strategy spin-off game. He comes equipped with a Spartan Laser rifle that is especially fun to pose with, and his paint looks particularly nice on his armor. Jerome is a bit of a deep cut, but Halo Wars 2 fans will really get a kick out of it.
Blue Team member Kelly-087 is a particularly striking figure with its unique helmet and white armor. The female Spartan-II supersoldier comes with her signature Oathsworn shotgun and has a lot of fans thanks to her many appearances in Halo lore. Her large gun and the shape of her armor make her perfect for some fun poses, as seen in the slideshow, and it’s really cool to get a nice figure of her for this cheap.
The final figure is of the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper, or ODST for short. Fittingly, it’s the Halo 3: ODST version based on the wonderful stand-alone expansion that originally wowed on Xbox 360. There are some really nice touches on the sleek, black armor that show that the ODST soldier has seen plenty of combat. It comes with a really nice battle rifle as well and these little touches of detail are really what makes it worth adding to your collection.
Jazwares Vault Halo Figures Review: Final Verdict
The new Jazwares Vault Halo figures are great additions to an already impressive line. All four are available now on the Jazwares website, and are a really good value with the level of detail and points of articulation that they feature. Whether you’re an older Halo fan that wants a Major Grunt or ODST soldier in his collection or you want another Spartan, like Kelly-087 or Jerome-092, to keep Master Chief company, there’s bound to be one you’d like.
