The official website and Twitter for Chisato Abe’s upcoming anime Karasu wa Aruji o Erabanai recently announced the release date of the anime adaptation. In addition, the announcement also revealed additional cast members for the upcoming anime.
Karasu wa Aruji o Erabanai or The Raven Does Not Choose Its Master, is the second novel in the Yatagarasu series. Karasu launched the first novel for his series in 2012. The first novel has six stories; Karasu wa Aruji o Erabanai is the second of the lot.

Chisato’s new anime will be part of the Spring 2024 lineup. NHK will release the anime on April 6 at 11:45 p.m. JST. NHK Enterprises and Studio Pierrot will produce this anime.
The anime features a star-studded lineup of talent. Among these, Eiji Takeuchi will star as Sumio, with Satoshi Hino starring as Natsuka. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Shirokuma and Kengo Kawanishi will star as Rokon and Atsufasa. Yoshino Aoyama and Atsuko Tanaka will join them, who will star as Fujinami and Ōmurasaki no Omae.
Previously announced cast members include Mutsumi Tamura, who will voice Yukiya. Miyu Irino as Wakiya, Rina Honnizumi will be Asebi, and Hiroki Nanami and Rie Kugimiya will voice Hamayū and Shiratama, respectively.
The main staff consists of Yoshiaki Kyougoku, who will direct the series, while Yukiko Yamamuro will handle the scripts. Takumo Norita will handle character designs alongside Eishi Segawa, who joins the team as the music composer.
NHK described the series as: “Yamauchi, a fantastic world where the Yatagarasu lives. Yukiya, a young Yatagarasu, is appointed as the personal attendant of the eccentric Crown Prince Wakamiya. However, he is entangled in a web of conspiracies attempting to overthrow the heir to the Imperial throne.”
