The cast members for the upcoming Big Bang Theory spin-off are reportedly decided. Actor Kevin Sussman, who portrayed Stuart Bloom in the original, is set to join the show, alongside various other familiar faces who’ll be reprising their roles.
Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn, and Lauren Lapkus to lead the Max’s The Big Bang Theory spin-off
According to Deadline, the upcoming spin-off of The Big Bang Theory will focus on popular side characters of the show. Kevin Sussman, who played Stuart Bloom, the owner of the comic book center that Sheldon Cooper and his gang frequented, has reportedly signed a deal to make a comeback in the spin-off.
Additionally, Posehn, who portrayed the role of Caltech University professor, Bert Kibbler, and Lapkus’ Denise, are also part of the Big Bang Theory spin-off cast. However, the maker of The Big Bang Theory, Chuck Lorre, has not made any statements regarding this as the spin-off is still under development.
Talking about the spin-off series in November 2023, Lorre told TVLine, “It’s prenatal. Yeah, you don’t talk about the birth until the second trimester, I believe, is the rule.” He further added, “That’s a long way of saying no, I’ve got nothing to say about it other than it’s something that we are discussing.”
In 2019, Lorre also revealed that he had an idea for a spin-off after the completion of The Big Bang Theory, but it was canceled. He told the TVLine, “Unless there was a creative reason to do it — a wonderfully, wonderfully creative reason to do it — than the only reason [to do it] is economics, and that’s not good enough.”
In addition, another spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, is set to air on CBS on October 17, 2024.
