While Benny and Josh Safdie continue to search for cast members for their next Netflix film, Deadline says rapper/actress Megan Thee Stallion is in talks to join the project. This news comes from multiple sources close to the project. However, Netflix is reluctant to confirm our suspicions. The streamer, and the film’s creators, are staying quiet about the specifics of the film. In other words, we don’t have a title, plot synopsis, or other potential casting calls. Thankfully, Adam Sandler is giving news hounds a scrap of information by saying the story revolves around the world of sports memorabilia. Benny and Josh Safdie will co-direct from a script they wrote and will produce the film, with plans to shoot this summer.
In addition to being a chart-topping rapper with hits like “WAP,” “Sweetest Pie,” and “Beautiful Mistakes,” Megan Thee Stallion has appeared in films and television shows, including P Valley, She-Hulk: Attorney at Lawand Good Girls. She is also about to make her feature debut in the R-rated comedy F***ing Identical Twinswith Borat‘s Larry Charles directing. In F***ing Identical Twins, a pair of business rivals discover that they’re identical twins and decide to swap places to trick their divorced parents into getting back together. Megan Mullaly, Nathan Lane, and Bowen Yang also star in the musical comedy.
