Former AEW World Champion MJF recently addressed the possibility of former WWE star Shane McMahon coming to AEW. Over the past few months, reports of Shane McMahon potentially joining AEW have gained significant traction.
The rumors began when Conrad Thompson, co-host of the “Grilling JR” podcast, mentioned that a mutual friend revealed Shane had reached out to several AEW wrestlers. McMahon had reportedly expressed interest in a possible appearance in All Elite Wrestling as his contract with WWE had expired. Following these reports, President Tony Khan also addressed the speculation about Shane McMahon joining his promotion.
The rumors gained more traction when it was reported that Shane McMahon had also met with AEW star Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE. A few weeks ago, a leaked photo of Shane McMahon meeting AEW President Tony Khan surfaced online. This led to rampant speculation that McMahon might be on his way to All Elite Wrestling. These rumors were recently addressed by AEW American Champion MJF.
MJF advises Shane McMahon to stay away from AEW
AEW American Champion MJF recently appeared in an interview with WrestleTalk, where he promoted his upcoming match with Will Ospreay at All In. When the topic of Shane McMahon came up, MJF advised the former WWE star to stay away from him.
He also made a pointed remark about McMahon’s injury sustained at WrestleMania during his match against The Miz. He stated, “Please stay away. For his health, just stay away from me. I thought it was super impressive how easily he tore his quad you know. The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Let’s hope that’s not in every single facet of his life.”
With MJF advising Shane McMahon to stay away from him, and AEW’s biggest show, All In, approaching on August 25th at Wembley Stadium, it will be interesting to see whether McMahon makes his debut during the show.
