Benjamin Brewer’s post-apocalyptic monster movie Arcadian is now available to rent or buy at home so you can have your latest Nic Cage fix in the comfort of your own home.
The SXSW official selection is available everywhere you rent and buy movies having made its theatrical bow last month.
“In a near future, normal life on Earth has been decimated,” the official synopsis reads. “Paul and his two sons, Thomas and Joseph, have been living a half-life – tranquility by day and torment by night. Every night, after the sun sets, they face the unrelenting attacks of a mysterious and violent evil. One day, when Thomas doesn’t return home before sundown, Paul must leave the safety of their fortified farm to find him. A nightmarish battle ensues that forces the family to execute a desperate plan to survive.”
Arcadian stars Cage (Dream Scenario, Mandy) as Paul, while Jaeden Martell (It, Knives Out) plays Joseph and Maxwell Jenkins (Sense8, Reacher) plays Thomas. Sadie Soverall, Samantha Coughlan, Joe Dixon, and Joel Gillman also star in the film.
The film is directed by Ben Brewer, who previously made 2011’s Beneath Contempt and 2016’s The Trust. Brewer was also the lead visual effects artist on 2022’s Everything Everywhere All at Once.
The script was written by Michael Nilon, who also produces the movie alongside Cage, David M. Wulf, Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier, and Braxton Pope. Henry Winterstern, Richard Lechartier, Jamal Sannan, Macdara Kelleher, Jake Van Wagoner, Slava Vladimirov, Jared Underwood, and Andrew C. Robinson serve as executive producers.
