Olivia Cooke and Jamie Bell To Lead Romance Movie

Olivia Cooke (House of the Dragon) and BAFTA Award winner Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers) are to star in the Italian-set romance movie, Takes One To Know One, from Italian director Nathalie Biancheri (Nocturnal).

The film, billed as an “unconventional and contemporary take on romance,” was written by Pam & Tommy writer Brooke Baker. According to Deadline, production for the feature is due to commence in Italy in late 2024.

What is Takes One To Know One about?

The romance film will follow Eleanor (Cooke) and Lucas (Bell), whose chance encounter in Rome will soon spark undeniable chemistry. Though it seems to be a picture-perfect situation, the two of them are currently in relationships with other people.

“When Eleanor and Lucas meet in Rome, the chemistry is electric. With a shared passion for art, Italy, and each other, it looks like the start of something life-changing. The biggest stumbling block: They are both in relationships with other people,” the synopsis reads.

Who’s involved in Takes One To Know One?

In addition to starring, Cooke will also serve as one of the film’s producers alongside Gail Egan (A Most Wanted Man), Claude Dal Farra (The Hating Game), and Brian Keady (To Leslie). The executive producers are Josh Glick, Brad Feinstein, and Brooke Baker. The film is a Potboiler, BCDF Pictures, and Chippy Tea Productions production.

“The script penned by Brooke is beautiful and delicious and can only be elevated more by Natalie and Jamie’s immense talent and vision. To be working with this brilliant bunch is a dream,” Cooke said in a statement (via Deadline).

Cooke can be seen in Bates Motel, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Thoroughbreds, Ready Player One, Sound of Metal, and The Good Mother. On the other hand, Bell — who had been one of the youngest BAFTA winners, thanks to 2000’s Billy Elliot — has appeared in Snowpiercer, Fantastic Four, Skin, Rocketman, Shining Girls, and more.
