Peacemaker Season 2 Writing Update Given by James Gunn

James Gunn has provided a new update to Peacemaker Season 2, revealing that he’s already written most of the new season.

In a recent series of posts on the Instagram-based social media platform Threads, Gunn was asked how Peacemaker was going. The co-CEO of DC Studios said he was “a sleepless ball of stress” a few weeks ago, but is now working on the eighth episode of Season 2, and is feeling “pretty good.”

Responding to another fan, Gunn confirmed he was on Episode 8 of the second season, and called it “a banger.” It’s unclear exactly how many episodes Gunn has written, however, as he could’ve written material for episodes non-chronologically.

The first season of Peacemaker was 8 episodes long, although it’s unknown if Season 2 will be longer.

Who’s the Cast of Peacemaker?

Peacemaker Season 1 starred John Cena as Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Steve Agee as John Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith/White Dragon, and more. It’s unclear which characters will return for the next installment, but Gunn previously teased that he’s planning to establish more DC connections into the next chapter, following Ezra Miller and Jason Momoa’s surprise appearances during the Season 1 finale.

Based on the characters from DC, Peacemaker is written, directed, and created by Gunn. Executive producers are Gunn, Cena, Peter Safran, and Matt Miller. It was produced by Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Season 1 is now available for streaming on Max.
