The Pokemon Company, together with developers Creatures and DeNA, have revealed the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket release date. Players can now pre-register their interest for the free-to-play Android and iOS game, although there will also be in-app purchases for those wanting to progress quicker.
What is the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket release date?
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will be released on October 30, 2024. The game will be released worldwide on the same day with the exception of New Zealand, whose players can take part in a soft launch prior to that date. The exact date of the soft launch has not been revealed.
Those taking the free-to-play road will be able to open two booster packs of cards every day. The cards feature illustrations from the past as well as all-new immersive cards that are exclusive to the game. Immersive cards have illustrations with “a 3D feel” with special visual effects that “will make you feel like you’ve leapt into the world of the card’s illustration.”
The cards can be displayed in binders or display boards that can be shared with friends around the world. There has been no mention of being able to trade those cards, though. Of course, the cards are no good if you can’t use them to take part in casual battles too. These will be available against AI or against friends.
The in-app purchases haven’t been detailed, but we assume they will include the option to either directly purchase more booster packs or purchase premium currency to unlock booster packs. Regardless of which route you wish to take, those wanting to pre-register their interest for the game can do so on the iOS App Store and Android’s Google Play Store right now.
