The KGF franchise has captivated audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances. While the fans are eagerly waiting for its third installment, director Prashanth Neel recently confirmed that KGF 3 would happen.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, the franchise’s first installment, KGF: Chapter 1, made its debut in 2018, garnering widespread acclaim. Produced by Hombale Films, the film boasted a talented cast, including Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Vasishta N. Simha, Ramachandra Raju, and others. With an estimated budget of $9.5 million, KGF: Chapter 1 raked in an impressive $29.9 million at the box office.
Following the success of the first part, director Prashant Neel treated fans with KGF: Chapter 2 in 2022. Once again, Yash and Srinidhi reprised their roles, with Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt joining the cast as the antagonist.
The sequel continued the story from the first part and achieved significant commercial success, earning the title of the fourth highest-grossing Indian film. Notably, KGF: Chapter 2 became the first Kannada film to be released in IMAX theaters.

Prashanth Neel gives an update on KGF Chapter 3
With the franchise’s overwhelming popularity, fans eagerly anticipate the third installment release. In an interview director Prashanth Neel said, “We are ready to go with Salaar 2, but I just need to take a break, I just caught off with KGF when I was into Salaar. I need to take a break.”
Confirming the KGF 3, he continued and said, “KGF 3 will happen, KGF 3 is also scripted, was already written otherwise we wouldn’t put it in Part 2, but in the end, everyone knew that we are making Part 3. This is what we have to align again.”
Further, Neel highlighted the busy schedules of lead actor Yash and producer Vijay Kiragandur. He concluded confidently and said, “We just have to clear our schedules one day, and we are gonna start it.”
As fans eagerly await further updates, it remains to be seen when the makers will commence the shoot for KGF: Chapter 3. Until then, the excitement surrounding the franchise continues to grow with each passing day.
