A production start date window and episode count for Euphoria Season 3 has been revealed.
Created by Sam Levinson, the first season of HBO’s Euphoria premiered in June 2019. The series stars Zendaya as Ruby “Rue” Bennett, Jacob Elordi as Nathaniel “Nate” Jacobs, Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn, Alexa Demie as Madeleine “Maddy” Perez, Sydney Sweeney as Cassandra “Cassie” Howard, and more.
The second season of Euphoria premiered in January 2022. The series was renewed for a third season in February 2022; however, production was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, along with the unexpected deaths of Angus Cloud and executive producer Kevin Turen.
While reports indicating that Euphoria Season 3 may no longer be happening have recently surfaced online, HBO and Max’s Casey Bloys has announced the new season is still expected to begin filming this coming January.
“We are shooting Euphoria,” Bloys said, via Variety.” I think we have a start date, mid to late January. Nothing’s changed. Somebody said something online, and then this whole thing started. We are shooting the season. I have read the scripts. We’re happy. We’re moving ahead. All of the actors. Is the show.”
How many episodes will Euphoria Season 3 have?
Bloys announced that Euphoria Season 3 will consist of eight episodes.
Reports that Euphoria Season 3 may not happen came after the announcement that Zendaya had been cast in Christopher Nolan’s new movie. Zendaya also has obligations to film Spider-Man 4, while Elordi will be filming Wuthering Heights in 2025.
“I know the show gets a lot of attention now because, you know, it has created some genuine movie stars, and they have various projects that are working on, but we are shooting this season, so nothing has changed,” Bloys reaffirmed.
The cast of the show also includes Maude Apatow as Alexis “Lexi” Howard, Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs, Nika King as Leslie Bennett, Storm Reid as Georgia “Gia” Bennett, Colman Domingo as Ali Muhammed, and Dominic Fike as Elliot.
A premiere date for Euphoria Season 3 has not been announced.
