[SPOILER] comments on their game-changing cameo in the mid-credits scene of The Marvels, adding that they’re confident they’ll return.
MAJOR SPOILERS for The Marvels. Consider yourself warned. The Marvels is now playing in theaters, and just like most movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it includes a few cameos; But it’s the cameo which appears in the movie’s mid-credits scene which has fans talking.
The end of The Marvels found Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) using her powers to seal a tear in reality which unfortunately left her stranded in an alternate universe. In the mid-credits scene, Rambeau wakes up in a hospital bed to find an alternate version of her mother as well as X-Men’s Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast. Kelsey Grammer reprised the role he played in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past, although this time he didn’t have to get into costume as the character was a digital creation. While speaking with The Wrap, Grammer seems confident that we will see Beast return.
“It is my hope that you will [see him again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to,” Grammer said, adding that he’s “very pleased” by the response to his cameo in The Marvels. “I’ve always wanted to play him again,” Grammer said. “I see him as an extraordinary character, a real character of gravitas and importance in our culture. I’m delighted Beast is back and hope he’s back in a real way.“
The X-Men seem poised to finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so I would imagine that we’ll see Kelsey Grammer make his return as Beast before the Multiverse Saga comes to a close.
“In Marvel Studios’ The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence,” reads the official synopsis. “But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.” In addition to Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, The Marvels also stars Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, Zawe Ashton as Dar-Benn, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
The Marvels hasn’t exactly impressed at the box office, with the film enjoying the dubious privilege of the worst opening weekend in MCU history. The film is currently playing in theaters, so you can check out a review from our own Alex Maidy right here and be sure to let us know what you thought of the movie as well!
