What is the Dennis Quaid-starring Reagan about?
“Told through the voice of Viktor Petrovich, a former KGB agent whose life becomes inextricably linked with Ronald Reagan’s when Reagan first caught the Soviets’ attention as an actor in Hollywood, this film offers a perspective as unique as it is captivating,” the synopsis reads. “Quaid brings to life a story that transcends the boundaries of a traditional biopic, offering a profound exploration of the enduring impact of the power of one man who overcame the odds, sustained by the love of a woman who supported him in his journey.”
Reagan is directed by Sean McNamara, who previously made 1998’s 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain, 2003’s The Even Stevens Movie, 2006’s The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold, 2007’s Bratz, 2011’s The Suite Life Movie, 2011’s Soul Surfer, 2013’s Baby Geniuses and the Mystery of the Crown Jewels, 2018’s Aliens Ate My Homework, 2022’s The King’s Daughter, and 2023’s On a Wing and a Prayer.
Along with Quaid, the movie stars Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, Mena Suvari as Reagan’s first wife Jane Wyman, Lesley-Anne Down as Margaret Thatcher, David Henrie as teenage Reagan, Kevin Dillon as Jack Warner and Jon Voight as KGB agent Viktor Petrovich.
Having been filmed in Oklahoma and California, Reagan releases in United States theaters on August 30, 2024, from ShowBiz Direct.
