Stoner Comedy Movie Gets Official Title, R-Rating

Half Baked 2, the sequel to the Dave Chappelle-led cult classic stoner movie, finally has an official title and rating.

ComicBook.com is reporting that Half Baked 2’s official title is Half Baked: Totally High and that the sequel has received an R rating from the Motion Picture Association.

Though the original movie’s stars — Dave Chappelle and Jim Breuer — are not expected to make any sort of appearance in the new movie, Rachel True will be reprising her role as Mary Jane while comedian Harland Williams is returning as Kenny Davis.

“We are thrilled to announce the next chapter in Half Baked, with new characters and a hilarious story that is sure to satisfy followers of the original film while attracting a whole new generation of fans,” said Glenn Ross, General Manager and Executive Vice President at Universal 1440 Entertainment last November. “The sequel features a talented young cast alongside Rachel True reprising her role as the fan-favorite ‘Mary Jane.’ We can’t wait to show audiences where the story goes from here.”

“When a member of their crew gets arrested for killing a New York City police horse by feeding it junk food, three slackin’ stoners are forced to get off their butts and raise bail by selling pot stolen from a pharmaceutical lab,” reads the original film’s synopsis. “It’s a risky plan but, hey, these are stand-up guys who would do anything to help out a friend in need.”
