The Marvels Director Shares Thoughts on MCU Superhero Fatigue

The Marvels director Nia DaCosta has shared her thoughts on MCU superhero fatigue.

DaCosta has previously directed movies like Candyman and Little Woods. She is about to direct the upcoming sequel to the 2019 superhero movie Captain Marvel. This film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.

In an issue of Total Film magazine, DaCosta said, “I think superhero fatigue absolutely exists.” She elaborated on how she hopes her upcoming movie stands out above the other superhero films. “The biggest difference from the other MCU movies to date is that it’s really wacky, and silly,” DaCosta teases. “The worlds we go to in this movie are worlds unlike others you’ve seen in the MCU. Bright worlds that you haven’t seen before.”
