Tom Cruise ‘Circling’ Role in Quentin Tarantino’s The Movie Critic

A dream collaboration between Tom Cruise and Quentin Tarantino could be coming to fruition after the duo almost worked together on Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

According to The Insneider (subscription required but recommended), Cruise is currently in discussions to join the cast of The Movie Critic, which will be Tarantino’s final film. This will come down to Cruise’s busy schedule, but the Hollywood star is said to be rearranging his schedule to accommodate either a “small role or cameo” in the movie. It’s said that Cruise will be busy most of the year with Mission: Impossible 8, although he’ll try to fit it in either around or after reshoots have finished on the action movie.

According to reports, Sony Pictures will likely be the film’s distributor, and Stacey Sher will serve as a producer. A 2025 release is eyed for what will be Tarantino’s final movie. Details have been scarce on what the film will revolve around, although it is known that it will take place in the 70s in California and “is based on a guy who really lived, but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag.” Brad Pitt has been mentioned as joining the cast and possibly taking on the lead role.

Quentin Tarantino has directed numerous acclaimed and iconic movies, such as 1994’s Pulp Fiction and 2012’s Django Unchained. He is known to often collaborate with actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Roth, and Zoë Bell.
