Daniel Wong was found guilty of first-degree murder and attempt to murder. He was convicted alongside his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Pan, for the slaying of Pan’s mother, Bich Ha Pan, and an attack on her father, Huei Hann Pan. Jennifer paid two hitmen other than Daniel Wong to attack her parents in their home in Ontario on November 8, 2010. Time Magazine reported that by then, she had been in an on-and-off relationship with Daniel Wong, a marijuana dealer.

People Magazine stated that Jennifer Pan and Daniel Wong met in high school and eventually grew close as they were in the same school band. Moreover, the band’s tour to Europe in 2003 strengthened their relationship, and the two began dating. However, Jennifer was not allowed to date anyone back then, which forced her to keep her relationship with Wong a secret.

According to The Washington Post, Jennifer Pan’s parents pressured her to excel academically and participate in extracurricular activities. With the overwhelming pressure, when Jennifer began getting average grades in school, she started doctoring her report cards.

Jennifer lied to her parents and claimed that she had managed to graduate from high school. She told them she got into the pharmacology program at Toronto Metropolitan University (then Ryerson University). Jennifer pretended to attend classes but instead, she worked in a restaurant, sat in cafes, and taught piano. She even told her parents that she would have to stay at a friend’s house for about three nights a week to avoid commuting the distance from the university. As per another report by People Magazine, she apparently stayed at Daniel Wong’s place.

Where is Daniel Wong now?

People Magazine also reported that Daniel Wong is now booked at a correctional facility in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada. He was found guilty of first-degree murder and attempt to murder and sentenced to life in prison with a possibility of parole after 25 years. Recently, the Supreme Court of Canada granted the convicts a retrial after the judge in the previous trial did not offer the jury the options of second-degree murder and manslaughter.

The murder of Jennifer Pan’s parents was planned after her mother followed Jennifer to work one day and found out about the lies. To punish her punishment, Jennifer’s parents forbid her from leaving the household. She could only give piano classes and was not allowed to meet Daniel Wong. According to Fox News, her parents also asked her to finish schooling.

During this time, Jennifer became depressed. She then hired David Mylvaganam and Lenford Crawford, along with Daniel Wong, to kill her parents, CBC reported. However, they did not expect the father to survive the attack. When the attack happened, Jennifer Pan was initially considered the only witness. Moreover, she was interrogated before the police found out the truth from her father. Later, they discovered that the murders were premeditated.
