Why Is Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Movie Not Shown on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays?

Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour Movie is surprisingly screened only on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and fans want to know why it’s not showing on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays. Here is all you need to know.

Why is Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie not in theaters on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays?

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie is not shown on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays as the Swift team wants to ensure packed screenings for all their showtimes.

The Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie is not screened on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays as Taylor Swift and her team believe in having packed auditoriums for all their showtimes from Thursdays to Sundays according to a recent Variety report. However, another reason for this unorthodox screening plan reportedly cemented by Swift and her team could be the film’s nature of being more like a concert and less like a film.

Not only that, Variety has reported that the film’s screenings and showtimes are not the only unorthodox part of it, as the theatrical distribution plan is also unique. Compared to other films, Swift’s Eras Tour movie spent significantly less money on marketing and premium prices. Moreover, Taylor Swift has also set distinct costs of admission for adults and children. They are:

  • Adults – $19.89, a reference to her birth year and 2014 album.
  • Children – $13.13, a nod to her lucky number.

Additionally, Taylor Swift also directly partnered with AMC Theaters, the largest cinema chain in the world, instead of a major production movie studio. Thanks to her partnership with AMC, Swift will reportedly take home 57% percent of ticket sales while the AMC chains get to keep 43% of it alongside a small distribution fee. Another reported benefit of this partnership is Swift getting the opportunity to eventually make a separate deal in order to bring Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Movie to small screens and streaming platforms.
