Why People Think ABC News Could Get Banned After Debate

The recent Kamala Harris and Donald Trump presidential debate took the nation by storm on Tuesday. Trump soon landed some scathing attacks on ABC News claiming that the network had been unfair with their coverage. ABC debate co-moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis are particularly under criticism for their one-sided fact-checking. With several political analysts pointing out the debate’s unfairness, netizens are wondering if ABC News will get banned soon.

Here is everything we know about the criticism that ABC News is facing after the debate.

Will ABC News get banned after latest debate?

It seems unlikely that ABC News will get banned in the near future.

However, the network is facing criticism for allegedly rigging the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Former President Donald Trump attacked ABC News for rigging the debate in favor of his opponent, Harris. Moreover, the debate co-moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis are currently under fire for their one-sided fact-checking, focusing only on Trump.

In light of the criticisms, Trump even asserted that ABC News should lose their license. Speaking with Fox & Friends on Wednesday morning after the debate, Trump declared, “I think ABC took a big hit last night. To be honest, they are a news organization — they have to be licensed to do it — they ought to take away their license for the way they did that.”

Trump especially attacked ABC News moderators, who constantly kept fact-checking him and failing to do the same with Harris. Furthermore, ABC News’ former political director Mark Halperin was vocal about the network safeguarding Harris. He called it the “biggest failure of the night.”

During a livestream on 2WAY, Halperin stated, “Not only was one news organization fully on board to continue through Election Day protecting her at all costs, but we saw in the coverage of the debate, which was laughably uneven, no recognition that it was laughably uneven.”

Similarly, Megyn Kelly, a former presidential debate moderator, echoed this sentiment as well. In an X post, she penned, “These moderators are a disgraceful failure and this is one of the most biased, unfair debates I have ever seen. Shame on you @ABC”

It remains to be seen how ABC News responds to these allegations. Meanwhile, reports confirm ABC did not fire the moderators in focus, David Muir and Linsey Davis.
