The Penguin Episode 6, titled “Gold Summit,” takes place sometime after the fifth episode. Oz’s (Colin Farrell) fledgling drug empire has already spread across Gotham, forcing Sofia (Cristin Milioti) and Salvatore (Clancy Brown) to take drastic steps. Meanwhile, Vic (Rhenzy Feliz) deals with a problem that he can no longer ignore, continuing his descent into crime. As Sofia searches for Oz’s weakness, the latter, resourceful as ever, does the impossible and establishes an unprecedented alliance against the Gigante and Maroni families.
Let’s delve deep into The Penguin Episode 6 ending.
What happens at the end of The Penguin Episode 6?
Time and again, Oz has demonstrated that he performs best when cornered, and the events of this episode effectively enshrine this. Noting the rapid growth of Oz’s Bliss operation, Sofia and Salvatore hit one of its distributing gangs, executing and publicly displaying the bodies of several of its members.
Oz responds to this by flooding the streets of Gotham with free Bliss, creating an enormous demand for his product. Eventually, he meets the Triad and all the other minor gangs in the summit the episode is named after and convinces them to establish an alliance against the Gigantes, the Maronis, and the wealthy and affluent class of the city.
Meanwhile, Victor reluctantly kills Squid (Jared Abrahamson) after the latter threatens to expose Oz’s operation. Elsewhere, Oz threatens the local city councilor to restore power in Crown Point. It is revealed that Francis (Deirdre O’Connell) has Lewy body dementia and is increasingly falling apart. She makes Oz promise that he will help her die when her condition reaches an extreme state.
While searching for Oz’s weakness, Sofia finds out about Eve (Carmen Ejogo) and visits her. After the other woman tells her the truth about the Hangman and lets her live, Eve reveals that Oz is running his operation out of Crown Point.
Will Sofia kill Oz’s Mom, Francis Cobb, and Victor in The Penguin?
Episode 6 ends on a cliffhanger. Francis goads Victor into a dance after the power is restored. Unbeknownst to them, Sofia has entered the apartment with a crowbar in hand. This is when the credits start rolling, leaving Francis and Victor’s fates to be revealed in the next episode. Francis can be a great bargaining tool against Oz, so Sofia might not kill her immediately. However, that’s not the case with Victor, and she likely sees him as disposable.
Until those final moments of this episode, Oz manages to hide the fact that his mother is alive. He will probably have to make a severe choice in Episode 7 between his operation and his mother. Given that this is ultimately a story about villains, we should not be surprised if he chooses the former.
