As of April 2024, Production I.G has not renewed Kaiju No. 8 for the sophomore season. As the first season of the anime just premiered, this probably means that the anime studio is waiting to see how the audience responds to it before making a decision on the future of Kaiju No. 8. As the anime is an adaptation of an ongoing source material, if season 1 is successful, Kaiju No. 8 can return with another season.
