Roman Reigns and CM Punk, the top stars of their respective brands in WWE, continue to be prominently discussed despite their absence from WWE programming. Roman Reigns last appeared at WrestleMania 40, where he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.
He held the title for a record-breaking 1316 days, making him the longest-reigning champion of the modern era. Reigns, who’s been the face of WWE since 2015, saw his career explode after turning heel and giving fans what they’d craved for years. His ‘Tribal Chief’ gimmick launched him to another level with the longest storyline in recent memory.
On the other hand, CM Punk’s return to WWE last year marked a big comeback for the former star. He made a significant impact in the early 2010s and remained a top talent throughout his first run. Many current WWE stars from the new generation have credited Punk as a major influence on their careers. Recently, former NXT Champion Bron Breakker mentioned both Punk and Roman Reigns as mentors who have guided him.
Bron Breakker shares how welcoming CM Punk and Roman Reigns have been
The former NXT Champion, Bron Breakker, has been on a tear since arriving on Raw in April. He’s quickly made a name for himself with brutal attacks on stars like Ricochet, Ilja Dragunov, and Sami Zayn.
In a recent appearance on the Getting Over Podcast, Breakker revealed that Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Paul Heyman all gave him a warm welcome to the main roster. He stated, “Roman Reigns has been really great. Paul Heyman. The locker room has really welcomed me with open arms. Any kind of questions or anything I’ve had. CM Punk is another one. Everybody has been extremely welcoming of me, willing to help, and excited for me. Everybody wants to see everybody do well and succeed. It’s a cool thing.”
Breakker has been on a tear recently, but he suffered his first loss against Sami Zayn at Money in the Bank. However, that hasn’t deterred him from targeting Zayn, as he attacked both Zayn and Ilja Dragunov during the Intercontinental Championship match. This suggests that WWE might be building towards a potential triple-threat match for Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam.
