YouTuber IShowSpeed was originally scheduled for Prime’s launch in India on November 10, alongside other content creators and famed personalities Logan Paul, KSI, MrBeast, and CarryMinati. However, he ended up backing out from the event two days prior, shocking many of his fans.
So, here’s all you need to know about the reason behind the streamer pulling out of the launch.
What did IShowSpeed say about Prime’s launch in India?
IShowSpeed addressed his absence from the Prime launch event in India on X (formerly Twitter). “India, I’m not going to be able to make it this weekend with @primehydrate But I have something special planned when I come back,” he wrote. “I love you and I’m sorry but I’ll see you soon I promise.” The “special” thing IShowSpeed appears to have planned for India is unknown as of writing.
Fans had mixed reactions to the YouTuber’s response. “It’s ok we will be happy to see you back next time,” one fan wrote on X. “India Loves you speed,” another fan commented. However, there were others who were saddened or had a more negative response to IShowSpeed’s absence. “Noo Speed,” wrote an X user.
Speed had toured Southeast Asia in September. He visited Thailand, The Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
IShowSpeed last visited India in October 2023. While there, he was hosted by and collaborated with Indian singer and songwriter Daler Mehndi. He’d danced to the tune of Mehndi’s popular song, “Tunak Tunak Tun.”
He’d also come to India as he was a fan of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and wanted to support India in their match with Pakistan (via Hindustan Times). He’d also played cricket during his time there. Furthermore, IShowSpeed hung out with Indian content creator, dancer and influencer Ishika Bhargava.
