The ongoing romantic Chinese drama The Best Day of My Life released episode 10 on July 29, 2024. The series tells the story of Xu Mu (Jiang Zhinan) and Xie Shi (Zhang Jiongmin), who sign a relationship contract to avoid getting married. However, in the latest episode, the two decided to part ways.
Xu Mu and her colleagues set up Zhang Yao’s event venue. He expresses gratitude by acknowledging Xu Mu has worked hard to make his first art exhibition memorable. Meanwhile, Xie Shi arrives at the venue but gets jealous when he witnesses Xu Mu’s growing closeness with Zhang Yao. Nian Nian and Shen Yi invite Xu Mu, Xie Shi, and their other friends to go camping with them.
Qiao Nan joins them as well. Seeing her getting close to Xie Shi bothers Xu Mu, but she remains quiet. Some of her friends mention how Qiao Nan and Xie Shi have always been close and how everyone thought they were a couple. Furthermore, Xie Shi had written in his diary that he loved someone for a long time, but his confession ended with rejection.

Xu Mu ends up sleeping in Nian Nian’s tent. She opens up to her best friend and reveals that Xie Shi spent the night at Qiao Nan’s place after she called him. Nian Nian asks if she likes Xie Shi because if she doesn’t, she shouldn’t meddle in his business. Nian Nian’s advice proves to be a reality check for her as she realizes the gravity of the situation.
Later in the episode, Xu Mu and the rest of the team go on a business trip. After arriving at the hotel, Zhang Yao enters Xu Mu’s room for a discussion. But after a sudden earthquake, they end up getting locked inside. As soon as Xie Shi sees the news, he calls Xu Mu but fails. He then quickly rushes to the hotel.
Meanwhile, when Xu Mu manages to get out, she sees Xie Shi helping Qiao Nan. She feels she has had enough and leaves the hotel with Zhang Yao in a cab. After reaching home, she tells Xie Shi that she wants to terminate the contract. According to the deal, it will become invalid once one of them develops a crush on someone else.
What happens in The Best Day of My Life episode 10’s ending?
Xu Mu’s words take Xie Shi by surprise. However, she continues by saying that the contract complicates their lives and creates unnecessary confusion, after which Xie Shi apologizes. Although he doesn’t want to let her go, he respects her decision and complies with her request.
After moving out of Xie Shi’s apartment, she decides to stay with Nian Nian for the time being. Xu Mu gets an earful from her mother for fighting with Xie Shi. Looking at how sad Xu Mu is, Nian Nian worries for her.
Meanwhile, after completing the project, Zhang Yao invites Xu Mu on a movie date. Alone at the theatre, he then reveals that he knows that Xu Mu’s relationship is fake. However, Xu Mu mentions how happy she is to be able to spend time with her role model as friends.
