#ChadGetstheAxe trailer

Trailer: the live-stream horror comedy #ChadGetstheAxe will be receiving a digital and VOD release in September

After making the festival rounds for the better part of a year, the found footage / live-stream horror comedy #ChadGetstheAxe, a feature expansion of an award-winning short film with the same title, is now set to receive a digital and VOD release courtesy of The Horror Collective (the genre label of Entertainment Squad) on September 1st. With that date just a couple weeks away, we’ve gotten our hands on the trailer for #ChadGetstheAxe, and you can check it out in the embed above.

Directed by Travis Bible, who wrote the screenplay with Kemerton Hargrove, #ChadGetstheAxe follows four social media influencers as they live-stream their trip to Devil’s Manor, former home to a Satanic Cult. Things don’t go well. And as the violence ramps up… So do the views.

The film stars Spencer Harrison Levin (Black Jesus), Michael Bonini (New Amsterdam), Taneisha Figueroa (Duck World), Cameron Vitosh (Walker), Brandon Doyle (Murder Made Me Famous), and Shun Hagins (Snitch). Levin also starred as the title character in the short film version of the story, which was made back in 2019.

Bible and Hargrove produced #ChadGetstheAxe with Eric Gibson and Frances O’Hanlon, with Dream Big Group executive producing.

Entertainment Squad CEO Skahed Berenson provided the following statement: “#ChadGetsTheAxe is a fun commentary on influencer culture and the hunger for popularity. It’s a great fit for The Horror Collective audience and a perfect follow-up to Jeff Ryan’s Mean Spirited, another Frightfest favorite we released earlier this year.

O’Hanlon, who is a partner in Dream Big Group, added, “This film has been two years in the making and it’s been an incredible experience bringing this vision to life. For us, it is so important to support filmmakers with a unique voice and fresh perspective. It’s not every day someone wants to make a film with an iPhone! Working with the most creative and talented team made the collaboration process a dream. We are thrilled for more audiences to connect with this film.
