Daniel Levy Joins Ryan Reynolds in Legendary’s Live-Action/Animated Hybrid Movie


According to Deadline, Emmy winner Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek) has officially signed on to join Ryan Reynolds in the Animal Friends cast for Legendary’s forthcoming live-action/ animated hybrid movie. The project is being described as an R-rated road trip adventure.

This marks Levy’s first major project since making his feature directorial debut in the recently released Netflix drama film Good Grief. He will next be seen in Netflix’s Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story movie, and on the final season of the HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm as a guest star.

Who’s involved in Animal Friends?

Animal Friends will be directed by Emmy winner Peter Atencio (Key and Peele) from a screenplay written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. The film will also star Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, Addison Rae, Vince Vaughn, and more. Further details about the plot and characters are still being kept under wraps. The project’s visual effects and animation will be handled by DNEG. It is being produced by Legendary, Maximum Effort, and Prime Focus Studios.
