The renowned streamer and YouTuber IShowSpeed was recently part of ComplexCon, held in Las Vegas. At the event, IShowSpeed expressed his desire to take part in the Olympic Games scheduled to be held in Los Angeles in 2028.
He stated, “2028, I’ll be running in the Olympics for sure. I’m going to do 100 meters and 50 meters and maybe 200.” However, Speed later corrected his statement, acknowledging that the 50m dash is not an official Olympic event.
Following his announcement, many internet users highlighted the rigorous requirements for competing in the Olympics. Athletes must meet several criteria, including competing in qualifying events. As outlined by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), participants must follow the rules set by the governing International Federation (IF) for their respective sport and receive support from their country’s National Olympic Committee (NOC).
Athletes must also pass IF-organized qualifying events to be eligible. Despite these challenges, IShowSpeed’s fans believe he could potentially participate in the 2028 Olympic Trials with sufficient training, dedication, consistent practice, and support from professional coaches, sponsors, and his country’s athletic organizations.
