Onimusha Release Date and Trailer Emerge for Netflix Anime Adaptation by Takashi Miike

Netflix has revealed the release date and first trailer for the anime series adaptation of Capcom’s slash ’em up game series Onimusha.

The series is helmed by legendary Japanese director Takashi Miike who is responsible for more than 100 films, including Audition, Ichi the Killer, 13 Assassins, Blade of the Immortal, and One Missed Call.

Onimusha Release Date & Trailer

Onimusha is set to premiere on Netflix on November 2, 2023.

Onimusha: Blade Warriors character Musashi Miyamoto is the story’s focus in the series. The character is based on the appearance of iconic Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune who starred in classics such as Rashomon, Throne of Blood, and Seven Samurai.

At the beginning of the Edo period, Musashi is no longer a young man. He departs with the legendary Oni Gauntlet to defeat the Genma. This is the beginning of an intense series full of realistic action in which Musashi’s blade slices through evil as he traverses a land plagued by poverty.

It’s not the first Capcom game series to appear on Netflix as animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness and a live-action series of the survival horror series were released last year.
