Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa & More Join Road Trip Movie


According to Deadline, blockbuster stars Ryan Reynolds (Dead Pool) and Jason Momoa (Aquaman) have signed on for the leading roles in Legendary’s upcoming live-action/animated movie titled Animal Friends. Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus) and Vince Vaughn (Bad Monkey) have also joined the project, which is being developed as an R-rated road trip adventure.

Animal Friends will be directed by Emmy winner Peter Atencio (Key and Peele) from a screenplay written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. Further details about the plot and characters are still being kept under wraps. The project’s visual effects and animation will be handled by DNEG. It is being produced by Legendary, Maximum Effort, and Prime Focus Studios.

Reynolds and Momoa are best known for their superhero roles in Marvel and DC, respectively. Tea Free Guy actor is currently training for the impending start of production for Deadpool 3while Momoa will reprise his role as Aquaman in the upcoming sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom this December.

As for Plaza, she recently received a Golden Globe nomination for her acclaimed performance in The White Lotus Season 2. The Parks and Recreation vet is also set to make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the forthcoming Agatha: Coven of Chaos series, which is currently in production. Vaughn is best known for his comedic roles in Wedding Crashers and old-school. He will next be seen starring alongside Al Pacino in Easy’s Waltz.
